Heritage Farmer’s Market was started in 2005 by a group of small farmers in central Illinois who felt they could grow the highest quality and safest food without all the chemicals and inhumane treatment found on factory farms. The market originally opened in a small canvas trader’s tent on Elm Grove Farm, open only on Saturday. After a battle with the local zoning department, the market moved to a small building in Groveland, Illinois. It is now located in a building along State Route 9 that is 4 miles west of I-155.

Heritage Farmer’s Market is not a high priced craft store or a corporate supermarket full of complicated, misleading labels. This is a place where you get to know the people who grow the food for you and your family. This is where FREE RANGE means free range. Our animals have wide open skies and pasture in which to lounge.

You can see how and where your food is made or raised. Just ask! We love to talk about how your food reaches your plate. You would not trust a stranger with your credit card; but people trust strangers to grow their food (long distance!) every day.　

We would love to have you come out to see us!

We are located about 2 ½ miles east of Pekin on Route 9, or 3 miles west of

Tremont on Route 9.
